The City of Roseburg, county seat of Douglas County, is surrounded by what has become known as the "100 Valleys of the Umpqua." [Pronounced "Uhm-Quawh"]. It is located about 50 miles inland from the beautiful Pacific coastline.

The mild seasonal characteristics are well defined with gradual changes noted between our definite four seasons. Springs are beautiful and green as sunshine and temperatures increase. Summers are sunny (e.g., only five cloudy days in the average July), with very little rain. The temperatures stay mostly in the comfortable 70's and 80's. Temperatures will creep into the 90's a few times each summer, but highs over 100 degrees are very rare. Best of all, it's never too humid here. In July, our hottest month, the relative humidity averages only from 54% at 10:00 a.m. down to 34% at 4:00 p.m.

Dry weather continues into mid fall, as sunny "Indian Summer" falls are the norm (note from the chart above that the average high temperature for October is a warm 66 degrees). The winters are more rainy, but snow in the valleys is rare. The average temperature for January, our coldest month, is a mild 48 degrees. In all, our summers aren't too hot and our winters aren't too cold. We have the perfectly mild climate that you've been looking for.

Another thing that we locals take for granted is the amazing lack of wind here. At an average wind speed of only 4 to 6 miles per hour, Douglas County is one of the least windy places in the entire U.S.A. So if you'd like to be able to barbecue without having lead weights on all your paper dishes, come to Littlebrook!

Finally, Roseburg has no hurricanes, no tornadoes, no windstorms, no blizzards, no hailstorms and no droughts. We are not in a high seismic activity zone for earthquakes!

The bottom line is that if you're looking for a place to escape the heat, cold, wind, earthquakes, storms, and bugs, we have your lot waiting for you right here in Littlebrook. Please contact us today!
